Since our founding in 1950, House of Carpets has been a cornerstone of Modesto, evolving with the times while staying true to our legacy. It all began when Oscar Cowan and Peter W. Johansen opened our doors at the corner of 13th & J streets, proudly known as “The Home of Distinctive Carpeting.” Back then, Modesto was a close-knit community of just 15,000, where you could call the operator to place your calls. As the town grew, so did we!
Today, you can find us at our new location inside the Flooring Liquidators Super Store at 2001 McHenry Ave., Ste. 201, Modesto, CA 95350. While our address has changed, our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction remains stronger than ever.
